Kelly McKay is a songwriter from New Jersey and the guitarist in the celebrated roots rock band, Maybe Pete. Kelly co-founded MP with her husband, Frankie, and together they made up the songwriting team for the band. MP independently released three CDs and were named Top Roots Rock Band at the Asbury Music Awards three years in a row. In addition, the band earned nominations for Top Local Release for their album Straight to Red and Song of the Year nominations for "Another Cigarette" and "The Guitars Got Louder." Kelly's favorite moments with MP include sharing the stage with Bruce Springsteen at the Light of Day benefit for Parkinson's research and serving as backing band for Jason Ringenberg of Jason and the Scorchers.
In 2011, Maybe Pete went on hiatus and Kelly turned her focus to writing songs for other artists. She's earned cuts with acts that span genres from contemporary country to punk, and enjoys writing with talented artists from NY, NJ, Nashville and beyond.
